Pomme Palais has reopened after having been closed all summer. The chef Michel Richard, who died last year, originally opened the shop for pastries and takeout in the New York Palace hotel. Homemade apple cider and cinnamon doughnuts, autumn ginger snaps, pastrami salmon sandwiches and a new take on the black-and-white cookie with an amaretto base highlight the new fall menu: Pomme Palais, Lotte New York Palace, 30 East 51st Street (Madison Avenue), 212-303-7755, pommepalais.com.
